Abstract:Objective To analyze and study the changes of heart function indexes in healthy people after rapid ascent to plateau. Methods The healthy individuals aged from 30 to 50 were selected and led into the Tibetan Plateau region at an elevation of 3500 meters. On the 1st,3rd and 7th d after they arrived the plateau region, the indexes of blood pressure(BP),heart rate(HR),left ventricular diameter(LVD),left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),aortic velocity-time integral(AVTI),pulmonary artery velocity time integral(PAVTI),stroke volume(SV),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESd),left atrial diameter(LAD)and left ventricular outflow tract(LVOT)were detected. The differences in all indexes were analyzed and compared statistically. Results On the 1st,3rd and 7th d after healthy individuals arrived the plateau region, the indexes related to heart function were detected, including systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and mean arterial pressure(MAP).The differences in pulse pressure,HR and LVOT had statistical significance(P<0.05).SBP,DBP,MAP and pulse pressure increased significantly on the 3rd d,and improved on the 7th d.HR increased continuously after healthy individuals arrived the plateau region, and LVOT had no significant changes on the 1st d and then decreased continuously. Conclusion Healthy individuals may experience changes in BP readings when rapidly ascending to high-altitude regions, but their indexes of BP level, heart function and heart structural may remain within safe parameters.
