Research Progress on the Diagnosis of Sepsis-Induced Cardiomyopathy
Abstract:Sepsis is a systemic multi-organ dysfunction syndrome caused by an excessive host response to infection and immune dysregulation. In 2017, about 48.9 million sepsis cases were recorded in 195 countries and regions, with 11 million sepsis-related deaths reported, accounting for 19.7% of the total number of deaths [1]. Sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy is the most common complication of severe sepsis. When heart failure occurs, it can exacerbate tissue hypoxia, mitochondrial dysfunction, and metabolic dysfunction of tissues, thereby accelerating the progression of sepsis and increasing mortality [2].
