Abstract:Objective To analyze the current status and research hotspots of myocardial fibrosis both domestically and internationally, and providing a theoretical reference for subsequent related studies. Methods Taken Web of Science database as data source, relevant literature on myocardial fibrosis published from January 2009 to December 2023 was retrieved. The information such as authors, institutions, countries, journals and keywords from the literature was extracted and used to create visual maps by using VOS viewer and CiteSpace software. Results A total of 14 777 relevant documents,2503 authors,66 countries and 573 institutions were included, with the overall international publication volume showing an upward trend. The total number of journals published was 1,554,with a significant number of articles appearing in Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. There were 494 high-frequency keywords identified, and based on these high-frequency keywords,7 clusters were determined:cardiac magnetic resonance T1 mapping for MF assessment, influence of transforming growth factor(TGF)-β/Smads pathway on MF development, oxidative stress responses and the selection of animal models during studying MF,heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)and MF,treatment of ventricular dysfunction due to myocardial infarction, affect of inflammatory response on MF development, and the genes and biomarkers related to MF.Conclusion Myocardial fibrosis,as a significant subject in cutting-edge research, still holds immense potential for development.Conducting a bibliometric analysis of both domestic and international studies in this area is of considerable value. It can help researchers in the field to focus on hot topics, offering direction and insights for future research.
