Abstract:Objective To develop a decision support tool that aids hypertensive patients in participating in evidence-based clinical practice, helping them make treatment decisions that reflect their values. Methods By reviewing clinical controlled trials on the application of computerized decision support tools for hypertension, the functionalities of existing tools were explored.Simultaneously,a needs analysis was conducted to design the overall framework of the tool. The tool was developed using Vue.js and Element UI frameworks, based on Java language and Redis technology. Results A total of 12 studies were included, with tools in only 3 studies being used by patients. There is still a lack of evidence-based decision support tools that provide multidimensional evidence on antihypertensive drugs. The tool developed in this study will provide decision support for hypertensive patients to participate in evidence-based clinical practice. Its main functions include guideline-based hypertension knowledge, risk assessment of cardiovascular diseases, and multidimensional value evaluation of antihypertensive drugs. Conclusion Decision support tools can enhance hypertensive patients'health management awareness, promote their participation in evidence-based clinical practice, and facilitate shared decision-making between physicians and patients.
