Abstract:Objective To study the burden and trend of ischemic heart disease(IHD)attributed to insufficient omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(Ω3-PUFA)in China and the World from 1990 to 2019.Method Based on the data of 2019 global burden of disease, the age-standardized mortality rate,age-standardized disability-adjusted life year(DALY)rate, and annual average percentage change(AAPC)were used to analyze the status and trend of attributable disease burden in China and the World from 1990 to 2019.Results In 2019,the age-standardized mortality rate of IHD attributed to insufficient intake of Ω3-PUFA in Chinese residents was 4.32/100,000,and the standardized DALY rate was 75.93/100,000,while the global attributable standardized mortality rate and standardized DALY rate were 4.32/100,000 and 90.65/100,000,respectively.Compared with 1990,the standardized mortality rate of IHD attributed to insufficient intake of Ω3-PUFA in 2019 in China increased by 12.88%,while the standardized DALY rate decreased by 3.58%.At the global level, both the attributable standardized mortality rate and the standardized DALY rate in 2019 showed a downward trend compared with 1990,by 31.10%and 28.74%,respectively.In 2019,the attributable standardized mortality and DALY rate in China were higher in males than in females(5.77/100,000 vs.3.36/100,000,102.10/100,000 vs.53.52/100,000),and both showed an upward trend with age. From 1990 to 2019,the disease burden of IHD attributed to insufficient intake of Ω3-PUFA in China increased at first and then decreased;the AAPC of attributable standardized mortality rate in China was 0.4%(95%CI:0.2%-0.6%,P<0.05),and the AAPC of attributable standardized DALY rate was-0.1%(95%CI:-0.3%-0%,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the current situation where the IHD disease burden caused by insufficient Ω 3-PUFA intake in the world is significantly reduced,China still has deficiencies in controlling the related disease burden.Proper supplement of Ω3-PUFA may improve the disease burden of IHD.
