Intervention of Yiqi Wenyang Huoxue Lishui Fang on heart and kidney functions in patients with cardiorenal syndrome: a clinical study

Abstract：Objective To observe the application effect of Yiqi Wenyang Huoxue Lishui Fang in patients with cardiorenal syndrome (CRS). Methods CRS patients (n=120) were chosen from Tangshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Oct. 2017 to Oct. 2018. All patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group (each n=60). The control group was given expectant treatment, and treatment group was given additional treatment with Yiqi Wenyang Huoxue Lishui Fang. The kidney function indexes including serum creatinine (SCr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR), and heart function indexes including ejection fraction (EF) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment. Results SCr, BUN and GFR had no statistical significance between 2 groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, SCr and BUN decreased significantly and GFR increased significantly in 2 groups. SCr and BUN were significantly lower and GFR was significantly higher in treatment group than those in control group (P<0.05). EF and BNP had no statistical significance between 2 groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, EF increased significantly and BNP decreased significantly in 2 groups. EF was significantly higher and BNP was significantly lower in treatment group than those in control group (P<0.05). The comparison in heart function grades I and II had no statistical significance (P>0.05) and that in heart function graded III and IV had significant differences (P<0.05) between 2 group after treatment. The total effective rate of treatment was significantly higher in treatment group than that in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Yiqi Wenyang Huoxue Lishui Fang can improve heart and kidney functions in CRS patients and promote their levels of autonomic activities, and it is worthy of clinic application.
