Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of perindopril combined with atorvastatin on level of serum angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ) and recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation (AF) within 1 y in patients with hypertension complicated by paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). Methods The patients with hypertension complicated by PAF (n=92) were chosen from People’s Hospital of Luzhou City in Sichuan Province from Apr. 2016 to Apr. 2018, and then divided, according to random digital table, into control group and combination group (each n=46). The control group was treated with perindopril and combination group was treated with perindopril combined with atorvastatin. One therapeutic course was for 12 weeks. The level of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) was detected by using immunoturbidimetry, Ang II level was detected by using radioimmunoassay (RIA) and level of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) was detected by using ELISA before and 12 weeks after treatment. The changes of left ventricular diastolic inner diameter (LVDd), left ventricular systolic diameter (LVSd), left atrial diameter (LAD) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were detected by using color Doppler ultrasonography. The levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), LVDd, LVDs, LAD, LVEF and AF recurrent rate were recorded after the last follow-up (after treatment for 12 months). Results After 12-week treatment, the levels of SBP, DBP, LAD, LVDd, LVDs, and serum hs-CRP, TNF-α and Ang II all decreased significantly (P<0.05), and LVEF level increased significantly (P<0.05) in combination group compared control group. The recurrent rate of AF was 17.39% in combination group and 39.13% in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Perindopril combined with atorvastatin can reduce Ang Ⅱ level, improve blood pressure and heart function and decrease AF recurrent rate in patients with hypertension complicated by PAF.
