Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of ivabradine hydrochloride on heart rate and cardiac function in elderly patients with coronary heart disease complicated with cardiac insufficiency. Methods A total of 125 elderly patients with coronary heart disease and cardiac insufficiency who were treated with ivabradine tablets from January 2017 to March 2019 were enrolled. The heart rate and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-ProBNP) were observed before and 4 weeks after treatment, as well as changes in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and adverse events. Result After 4 weeks of treatment, the heart rate, NT-ProBNP and LVEF of the patients were significantly improved compared with those before treatment. After 4 weeks of treatment, the heart rate was lower than that before treatment [(60.8±5.2)bpm/min vs. (88.9±5.0)bpm/min](P<0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment, the patient's NT-ProBNP was significantly lower than before treatment [(2496.6±537.9)pg/ml vs. (9318.5±1389.5)pg/ml] (P<0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment, LVEF was higher than before treatment [(55.1±2.8)% vs. (49.1±2.0)%, (P>0.05)], and less adverse reactions occurred. Conclusion Ivabradine can significantly reduce heart rate, NT-ProBNP levels, improve LVEF levels, improve cardiac function, have fewer adverse reactions, and have better safety in elderly patients with coronary heart disease complicated with cardiac insufficiency. Patients with adverse reactions and intolerance provide new options.
