Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of intravascular injection of nicardipine via vein graft on graft flow during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted in one inpatient ward in Department of Cardiac Surgery in Beijing Fuwai Hospital from May 2017 to Aug. 2017. The changes of graft flow were observed in the patients after intravascular injection of nicardipine via vein graft during CABG. Results There were totally 87 patients with intravascular injection of nicardipine via vein graft, and among them 76 were the male and 11 were the female aged from 39 to 83 (average age=63.4±10.0). The mean vein graft flow was (33.7±8.7) ml/min before nicardipine injection and (56.2±15.3) ml/min after nicardipine injection (n=195, P<0.05). The mean graft flow of left internal mammary artery (LIMA) was (24.8±6.8) ml/min before nicardipine injection and (34.6±7.6) ml/min after nicardipine injection (n=85, P<0.05). The changes of graft flow had no significant difference between cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) group and non-CPB group after nicardipine injection (P>0.05). The changes of graft flow had no significant difference between non-diffuse coronary lesion group and diffuse coronary lesion group after nicardipine injection (P>0.05). Conclusion The graft flow is improved significantly in patients after intravascular injection of nicardipine via vein graft during CABG. Therefore the intravascular injection of nicardipine via vein graft is a simple, safe and effective therapy for improving graft flow during CABG.
