Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between myocardial bridge (MB) of anterior descending branch coronary artery and atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge, and to determine whether MB of anterior descending branch coronary artery can be taken as an independent risk factor of atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge. Methods The clinical data was counted from 436 patients with MB of anterior descending branch coronary artery. The relationship between the risk factors related to atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge, including age, sex, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hyperlipidemia, smoking history, family history and MB systolic stenosis severity and atherosclerotic in the segment proximal to the site of bridge was analyzed by using Logistic regression analysis. Results The MB in the middle segment of anterior descending branch artery was significantly correlated to atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge. Age, hypertension, T2DM, smoking history, Noble grade Ⅱ and Noble grade Ⅲ systolic stenosis of MB were significantly correlated to atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge (P<0.05). After correcting sex, age, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking history and family history, Noble grade Ⅱ and Noble grade Ⅲ systolic stenosis of MB was correlated to atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge (OR=1.98, 95%CI: 0.06~1.37). Conclusion Noble grade Ⅱ and Noble grade Ⅲ systolic stenosis of MB in middle segment of anterior descending branch coronary artery can be taken as an independent risk factor of atherosclerotic stenosis in the segment proximal to the site of bridge of anterior descending branch coronary artery.
