Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between epithelial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness, serum ischemia-modifying protein (IMA) and high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods A total of 113 patients with ACS were enrolled. According to the diagnostic criteria, the patients were divided into unstable angina pectoris (UAP) group (69 cases) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) group (44 cases), another 40 patients with non-ischemic chest pain were selected as control group. Venous blood sample was collected to isolate serum. Hs-cTnT was determined by electrochemiluminescence. The content of IMA was determined by albumin cobalt binding assay colorimetry (ACB method). All patients underwent color Doppler ultrasound and coronary angiography to measure EAT thickness. Gensini integral system was used to evaluate the severity of coronary artery disease. Results There were significant differences in IMA, hs-cTnT and EAT thickness between ACS patients and control group (all P<0.05). The hs-cTnT and EAT thickness in AMI group was significantly higher than that in UAP group (P<0.05), and IMA in UAP group was higher than that in AMI group (P<0.05). Serum IMA was negatively correlated with Gensini (r=0.617, P=0.000). Serum hs-cTnT (r=0.685, P=0.000) and EAT (r=0.472, P=0.003) was positively correlated with Gensini. Conclusion EAT thickness, serum IMA and hs-cTnT is positively correlated with the severity of coronary artery disease in ACS patients.
