Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between the best cut-off value of high sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and survival time and their value to prognosis in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods CHF patients (n=80) were chosen from Beijing Luhe Hospital affiliated to Capital University of Medical Sciences from Jan. 2015 to Jan. 2016. The levels of serum hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP were detected in all patients after they were chosen. The best cut-off value was calculated by using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The value of the cut-off value to prognosis was compared by using survival charts. Results The best cut-off value of hs-cTnI was 16 ng/L (95%CI: 14~29), and that of NT-proBNP was 1720 ng/L (95%CI: 1550~2000). The risk comparison between groups showed that comparison between hs-cTnI negative group and NT-proBNP positive group showed (HR=3.31, 95%CI: 1.089.86, P=0.024), comparison between hs-cTnI positive group and NT-proBNP negative group showed (HR=3.98, 95%CI:1.31~12.81, P=0.019), and comparison between hs-cTnI positive group and NT-proBNP positive group showed (HR=6.28, 95%CI: 2.19~18.12, P=0.002). The survival charts showed that positive and negative groups were significantly separated from 4 months to 9 months (P<0.05). Conclusion Hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP are effective in predicting the prognosis and can provide risk prediction in CHF patients, which is worth clinical promoting.
