Abstract:Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of drug coated balloon in small coronary arteries. Methods A total of 38 coronary heart disease patients who would undergo percutaneous coronary intervention were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into Drug Coated Balloon (DCB) group (18 cases) and Cutting Balloon Angioplasty (CBA) group (20 cases). The immediate outcomes and long-term efficacy were investigated respectively. Results There was no significant difference in clinical data between the two groups before surgery. There were no coronary perforation, pericardial tamponade and acute thrombosis in the two groups. There was no significant difference between the two groups in minimal lumen diameter (MLD) before and after the operation. The MLD in the follow-up angiography group was significantly better than the CBA group in the DCB group (P<0.05). There was no death or non-lethal during the follow-up period. Sexual myocardial infarction, revascularization cases. Conclusion The immediate outcomes between DCB and CBA were similar in small coronary arteries angioplasty, however, the long-term efficacy of DCB is better than CBA.
