Abstract:Objective To discuss the predictive value of age shock index (SI) to short-term prognosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods AMI patients (n=526) were chosen from Affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical College from June 2016 to June 2017. The data was collected, and SI, modified shock index (MSI) and age shock index (age SI) were calculated. The patients were divided into improved-discharged group (n=480) and nosocomial death group (n=46). The general materials, systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), SI, MSI and age SI were analyzed in 2 groups. Results The general materials and HR had no statistical difference between 2 groups (P>0.05). The difference in age, SBP, diastolic blood pressure (DBP), MAP and Killip grades III and IV had statistical significance between 2 groups (P<0.05). SI, MSI and age SI were lower in improved-discharged group than those in nosocomial death group. The nosocomial mortality was 8.9%, and areas under ROC of SI, MSI and age SI were, respectively, 0.678, 0.700 and 0.707. They had statistical significance in predicting the short-term prognosis in AMI patients (P<0.001). Conclusion SI, MSI and age SI can predict all-cause mortality in AMI patients during hospitalization, and predictive ability of age SI is higher than that of SI and MSI.
