Abstract:International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) is a new platform for registration of systematic review on animal studies. The process of the registration in this platform is introduced in order to improve the registration quantity and quality and provide some references for improving the quality of systematic review on animal studies. The registration information of systematic review on animal studies in PROSPERO before Aug. 24, 2018 has been retrieved, and the countries, diseases, animal species, research types and current status involve in the protocols are analyzed for understanding the registrations’ situation. Finally, a total of 66 protocols included in our study and the results show that Netherland is the country that has the largest number of registrations, musculoskeletal or connective tissue diseases accounted for the largest number of diseases, all animal species are the predominant category in animal species, and the study type is mainly interventional research, most of which are in an incomplete state. The numbers of studies on registered systematic review on animal studies undertaken by Chinese teams are relatively less, so the awareness of domestic researchers on the registration of systematic review on animal studies should be strengthened for applying PROSPERO platform rationally and effectively in the future.
