Abstract:Objective To review the feasibility and safety of wire-guiding technique applied in percutaneous interventional closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defect (pmVSD). Methods A total of 40 patients who accorded with the conditions of percutaneous interventional closure of pmVSD were chosen from Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital from June 2015 to June 2016, and then divided into group A and group B by using randomized envelope method. The wire-guiding technique was used in group A and traditional technique was used in group B to set up arterial orbit in percutaneous interventional closure of pmVSD. The morphology, size, success rate and time of the operation, and incidence of complications were analyzed in 2 groups. Results The operation was completed in all patients. The success rate was 75.0% (15/20) in group A and 80.0% (16/20) in group B during 5-min operation time. The average operation time was (29.5±19.1) s in group A and (67.0±60.9) s in group B in the patients with successful operation. The incidence of transitional arrhythmias was the same in 2 groups, and all patients had no arrhythmias which continued to the end of the operation. Conclusion Wire-guiding technique can shorten operation time in a part of suitable cases, but has some limitations in other cases. In the operation, wire-guiding technique and traditional technique are easily transferred during the procedure, and they can be flexibly used for reaching the best operation results.
