Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes of plasma matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and correlation between them and severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with H-type hypertension. Methods The patients (n=140) suspected having coronary heart disease (CHD) complicated by hypertension undergone coronary angiography (CAG) were chosen from Department of Cardiology of Center Hospital of Chaoyang City from May 2015 to Mar.2016.The patients were divided, according to level of plasma homocysteine (Hcy), into H-type hypertension group (HH group) and non-H-type hypertension group (NHH group). The clinical data and indexes of blood biochemistry, ultrasonography and Gensini scores were compared between 2 groups, and MMP-9 predictive value to Gensini score≥30 was reviewed by using ROC.Results The level of plasma MMP-9 and Gensini scores were higher in HH group than those in NHH group (P<0.05).The results of multi-factor Logistic regression analysis showed that high level of plasma MMP-9 was an independent risk factor for occurrence of H-type hypertension (OR=22.787, P<0.05).In ROC used for reviewing MMP-9 predictive value to Gensini score≥30, area under curve (AUC) was 0.753(95%CI:0.661~0.845, P<0.05).Conclusion The level of plasma MMP-9 increases and severity of coronary artery lesions is higher in patients with H-type hypertension.High level of plasma MMP-9is an independent risk factor of H-type hypertension as well as one of important indexes for predicting severity of coronary artery lesions.
