Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between dynamic blood pressure and blood pressure variability in patients with essential hypertension complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and patients with essential hypertension.Method 280 patients with essential hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were admitted to our department of cardiology from January 2016 to July 2018 were selected as observation group, and300 patients with primary hypertension diagnosed in the same period. For example, it is a control group. The variability of daytime, nighttime, and 24 h systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were monitored and compared.Result The mean SBP and nighttime SBP of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).The difference of SBP between day and night and DBP in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05).SBP standard deviation, 24h day SBP standard deviation, daytime SBP coefficient of variation, nocturnal SBP standard deviation, nocturnal SBP coefficient of variation, nocturnal DBP standard deviation, and blood pressure morning peak were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The blood pressure variability of the observation group was higher than that of the observation group, suggesting that primary hypertension combined with type 2 diabetes has a greater impact on the patient's blood pressure circadian regulation, which may be related to changes in blood glucose levels.
