Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of drug balloon combined with cutting balloon in the treatment of coronary artery bifurcation lesions. Methods A total of 42 patients with coronary artery bifurcation confirmed by coronary angiography in the Department of Cardiology, Second People's Hospital of Pingdingshan from May 2015 to May 2017 were randomly divided into treatment group (21 cases) and control group (21 cases). The treatment group was treated with a drug balloon combined with a balloon to treat the bifurcation lesions. The control group was treated with a simple balloon dilation technique to treat the bifurcation lesions. The main branches of the two groups were routinely placed in the drug-eluting stent and the balloon was routinely expanded. Basic clinical data, characteristics of coronary lesions, minimal lumen diameter of main and side branch vessels immediately after the treatment and six months later, late lumen loss after six months, major adverse cardiac events in six months were compared between two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the baseline clinical data and coronary lesions between the two groups (P>0.05). There was no statistical difference between the two groups of main vessel lesions MLD [(2.87±0.15) mm vs. (2.91±0.18) mm] and branch vessel MLD [(2.26±0.18) mm vs. (2.36±0.19) mm]. Significance (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the follow-up of the MLD of the two groups (2.58±0.22) mm vs. (2.69±0.17) mm at 6 months after operation (P>0.05). The difference of MLD [(2.08± 0.22) mm vs. (1.67±0.19) mm] between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The difference of LLL [(0.22±0.12) mm vs. (0.69±0.15) mm] between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The difference of incidence of major cardiovascular adverse events (MACE) in the two groups (1 vs. 6) was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Drug-coated balloon combined with cutting balloon in the treatment of coronary artery bifurcation lesions was safe and effective.
