Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of tirofiban application on myocardial injury and platelet activation in patients with STEMI during PCI. Methods STEMI patients (n=90) were chosen from Yangling Demonstration Zone Hospital from Dec. 2014 to Feb. 2017, and randomly divided into control group and tirofiban group (each n=45). The control group was given routine PCI, and tirofiban group was given PCI combined with tirofiban with 10 μg/kg as the first dose and 0.15 μg/(kg·min) as maintain dose. The difference in myocardial injury markers including cardiac troponin I (cTnI), creatine kinase-MB isoenzyme (CK-MB) and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), and platelet function indexes including P-selectin, von Willebrand factor (vWF), platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) and platelet distribution width (PDW) were compared between 2 groups after PCI for 24 h. Results The baseline data including sex and age had no significant difference between 2 groups (P>0.05). After PCI for 24 h, the content of serum cTnI, CK-MB and BNP were significantly lower in tirofiban group than those in control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum P-selectin, vWF, PDGF-BB and PDW were significantly lower in tirofiban group than those in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion PCI combined with tirofiban during the procedure can effectively relieve myocardial injury and inhibit platelet activation after PCI in STEMI patients.
