Abstract:Objective To analyze the expressions and significance of angiogenin-2 (Ang-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with idiopathic atrial fibrillation (IAF). Methods IAF patients (n=78) were chosen from the People's Hospital of Shaanxi Province from Jan. 2016 to Apr. 2017, and divided into paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group (PAF group, n=36) and sustained atrial fibrillation group (SAF group, n=42). Meanwhile, patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) without AF history were chosen into control group (n=20). The levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), Ang-2 and VEGF were detected. Results The levels of VEGF, Ang-2 and hs-CRP showed an ascending trend in control group, PAF group and SAF group (all P<0.05 ). The results of correlation analysis showed that Ang-2 was positively correlated to VEGF (r=0.679, P<0.001), and hs-CRP was positively correlated to VEGF (r=0.705, P<0.001). Conclusion The levels of Ang-2 and VEGF increase significantly in IAF patients, and the increase is more significant in SAF patients. Ang-2 and VEGF have positive correlation in IAF patients.
