Abstract:A Measure Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) appears to be the most frequently used tool to assess the methodological quality of systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of interventions, which has demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Nevertheless, some assessors have found it problematic, such as some items may be difficult to interpret, hindering accurate assessment, some items seem to assess the quality of reporting of a systematic review more than its methodological quality, and modified the tool. This paper reviews the limitations and suggestions of others along with the experience of our own, in order to improve the applicability of this checklist and make it more accurate.
