Abstract:Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of miR-181a in serum of elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods Total of 56 AMI patients and 52 healthy people were chosen from January 2016 to March 2017 in Hebi people's Hospital. The expression of circulating miR-181a was measured by RT-qPCR, and the correlation between the expression of circulating miR-181a in AMI and Serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), cardiac troponin I (cTnI) were analyzed by Pearson method. ROC curve was usedto test the diagnostic value of miR-181a. Results The relative expression levels of miR-181a in AMI patients (1.60±0.27) was significantly higher than that in healthy people (1.18±0.30, P<0.05). There were positively correlated between the expression of circulating miR-181a in AMI and AST (r=0.647, P<0.01), cTnI (r=0.712, P<0.01). The area under the curve of miR-181a in diagnosing AMI was 0.834, the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 83.9% and 69.2% respectively. Conclusion Circulating miR-181a is highly expressed in elderly patients with AMI, which may serve as useful diagnostic biomarkers in elderly patients with AMI.
