Abstract:Objective To discuss the application of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in treatment of senile acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and its influence on serum biomarkers. Methods Elderly AMI patients (n=80) were chosen continuously from the First Hospital of Sanming City affiliated to Fujian Medical University from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2016, and then randomly divided into observation group and control group (each n=40). The control group was given routine thrombolysis therapy, and observation group was given PCI. The clinical indexes, heart function, TIMI flow, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), fibrinogen (Fg) and adverse reactions were compared between 2 groups. Results The vessel recanalization rate was 97.5% and length of hospital stay was (14.23±5.06) d in observation group, and 77.5% and (20.64±10.43) d in control group (allP<0.05). LEVF and LVEDd had no significant difference between 2 groups before treatment and they increased after treatment in 2 groups. LEVF and LVEDd were significantly higher in observation group than those in control group (allP<0.05). The level of NT-proBNP decreased in 2 groups after treatment for 1 d and for 1 week, and levels of VEGF, hs-CRP and Fg increased after treatment for 1 d and decreased after treatment for 1 week in 2 groups (allP<0.05). The percentage of patients with grade Ⅲ TIMI flow was 95.0% in observation group and 72.5% in control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 7.5% in observation group and 25.0% in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion PCI can effectively promote vessel recanalization rate, improve heart function, TIMI flow and levels of biomarkers, and reduce incidence of adverse reactions in elderly AMI patients.
