Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes of levels of ryanodine receptor 2 (RyR2) and uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) in elderly patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) before and after treatment, and provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods The elderly patient with acute myocardial infarction (n=120) were chosen from Jan. 2011 to Dec. 2016, and divided into STEMI group (n=64) and non-STEMI group (n=56, NSTEMI group). At the same time health controls (n=60) were chosen into control group. The changes of levels of RyR2, UCP2, sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase2a (SERCA2a) and silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1) were compared and analyzed in all groups. Results The levels of RyR2, SERCA2a, UCP2 and SIRT1 all were significantly lower in STEMI group and NSTEMI group than those in control group (P<0.05), and were lower in STEMI group than those in NSTEMI group (P<0.05). After thrombolytic and antithrombotic treatment, the levels of RyR2, SERCA2a, UCP2 and SIRT1 increased significantly in STEMI group and NSTEMI group (P<0.05), but were still lower significantly than those in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion RyR2 and UCP2 have some diagnostic value to senile STEMI in clinical practice.
