Abstract:Objective To study the interaction between low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5) gene and LRP6 gene and correlation between this interaction and prognosis in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after PCI.Methods CHD patients undergone PCI (n=600, PCI group) and patients with negative results of coronary angiography (n=600, control group) were chosen from June 2011 to June 2014. The levels of blood sugar, blood fat, serum creatinine (SCr), homocysteine (Hcy) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were detected after collecting fasting vein blood. There were 9 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of LRP6 and 2 SNP of LRP5 related to CHD chosen from HapMap database. All patients were given relevant genotype analysis, and followed up for 1 y to record the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).Results LRP6 had 3 genotypes (SNP6-1, SNP6-2, SNP6-7) and they were correlated to incidence of MACE after PCI. SNP6 and SNP7 were greatly correlated to incidence of MACE (OR=0.62, 95%CI: 0.54~0.87,P=0.005). SNP of LRP5 was not significantly correlated to incidence of MACE after PCI. The interaction between LRP5 gene and LRP6 gene had relevance with incidence of MACE after PCI (OR=0.43, 95%CI: 0.34~0.65,P=0.02).Conclusion LRP5 gene and LRP6 gene and interaction between them are correlated to incidence of MACE in CHD patients after PCI.
