Abstract:Objective To discuss the predictive value of atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods CHD patients (n=202) undergone success PCI and volunteered to receive follow-up were chosen from Dec. 2014 to Dec. 2015. The indexes of AIP, blood biochemistry and ultrasonography were detected. After follow-up for 1 y, all patients were divided into MACE group (n=31) and non-MACE group (n=171). The clinical materials, and indexes of blood biochemistry, ultrasonography and AIP were compared between 2 groups. The predictive value of AIP to MACE was reviewed by using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). Results The level of AIP was significantly higher in MACE group than that in non-MACE group (P<0.05). The multi-factor Logistic regression analysis showed that higher AIP level was an independent risk factor of MACE after PCI (OR=7.844,P<0.05). The area under curve (AUC) in ROC for predicting MACE by AIP was 0.860 (95%CI:0.782~0.938,P<0.05). When AIP level was 0.21, its sensitivity was 77.42%, specificity was 95.32%, accuracy was 93.56%, positive predictive value was 75.00% and negative predictive value was 95.88%.Conclusion The detection of AIP which is economical, has some predictive value to incidence of MACE. When AIP level is over 0.21, the risk of MACE will increase in CHD patients after PCI.
