Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of routine drugs combining cardiac sympathetic blockade (CSB) therapy on vascular endothelial function and heart function in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods CHF patients (n=17, male 11, female 6 and average age=47.3±11.6) were chosen from the Intensive Care Unit of Department of Internal Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from Nov. 2014 to Nov. 2015. All patients were given routine drugs and CSB therapy for 4 weeks. The flow-mediated dilation (FMD) was detected by using brachial artery ultrasonic detection, and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular end-diastolic inner diameter (LVEDD) were detected by using cardiac ultrasonography. The level of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) was detected and clinical efficacy was reviewed. Results The vascular endothelial function was significantly improved after treatment for 4 weeks compared with before [(7.48±5.85)%vs. (13.79±7.58)%,P<0.05]. After treatment, LVEDD decreased, LVEF increased and level of NT-proBNP decreased significantly compared with before (allP<0.05). Before treatment, there was 1 patient with NYHA grade Ⅱ, and there were 4 patients with NYHA grade Ⅲ and 12 with NYHA grade Ⅳ. After treatment for 4 weeks, there was 1 patient with NYHA grade Ⅰ and there were 16 patients with NYHA grade II. There were significant effect in 13 cases, effective in 3 cases and ineffective in 1 case, and the total effective rate was 94.1%. Conclusion The routine drugs combining CSB therapy can significantly improve vascular endothelial function and heart function in patients with CHF.
