Abstract:Objective To understand knowledge of prevention and treatment of blood lipid abnormality in doctors in Yanqing district of Beijing after the update of the guideline on prevention and treatment of blood lipid abnormality in Chinese adults in 2016. Method During the period from March 2017 to May 2017, 512 doctors in 18 hospitals in Yanqing area of Beijing were investigated by closed-book written examination. The clinical knowledge and actual treatment ability of blood lipid abnormality were investigated. Two months after the lecture, data release and interview training, the questionnaire investigation was conducted again and the results of the two surveys were compared. Results Before training, the new version of guideline on prevention and treatment of blood lipid abnormality in Chinese adults is not fully understood, and the concept is not clear. The awareness rates of concepts (the ideal level of cholesterol in the Chinese population; the criteria for the extremely high-risk population; LDL-C level in different arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) population) were less than 30% in second-class or above hospitals, and were less than 20% in primary hospitals. The awareness rates of concepts (LDL-C is the primary intervention target; lifestyle improvement is the basis for the treatment of blood lipid abnormality; statins is the preferred drug; key population of blood lipid abnormality examination; the practical use of the guidelines; the goal of blood lipid regulation in very high-risk population) were around 50%. After training, the accuracy rates of all questions were over 90%. Conclusion Grassroots doctors are less aware of the new guidelines and training is necessary. Long-term training for improving the level of diagnosis and treatment of doctors in Yanqing area is very helpful.
