Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of pantoprazole in prevention and treatment of digestive tract injury in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods CHD patients (n=170, male 87, female 83 and average age=61.42±8.60) undergone PCI were chosen from the Department of Cardiology in People's Hospital, Hubei University of Medicine from Jan. 2012 to Jan. 2014. All patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group (eachn=80). The control group was treated with clopidogrel and aspirin and observation group was additionally given pantoprazole. The incidence of digestive tract bleeding, discomfort and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were followed up and recorded in 2 groups after PCI.Results There were 15 patients with digestive tract discomfort and 7 with digestive tract bleeding in control group, and 5 with digestive tract discomfort and none with digestive tract bleeding in observation group (6.25% vs. 18.75%, 0vs. 8.75%, allP<0.05). There were 6 patients with MACE in control group and 5 in observation group (P>0.05).Conclusion Pantoprazole can relieve the digestive tract injury induced by dual anti-platelet therapy, and not promote MACE incidence in CHD patients after PCI.
