Abstract:Objective To systematically review the association between antiphospholipid antibodies and the risk of thrombosis in patients with primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).Methods We electronically searched databases including PubMed, EMbase, the Cochrane Library, CBM, CNKI, VIP, WanFang Data to collect cohort studies about the association between antiphospholipid antibodies and the risk of thrombosis in patients with primary immune thrombocytopenia from inception to April, 2016. Two reviewers screened literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted data, and assessed the quality of included studies. RevMan 5.3 were used to conduct the meta-analysis.Results A total of ten studies involving 1574 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis indicated that, the incidence of thrombosis was significantly lower in the lupus anticoagulant (LA) negative patients (OR=6.35, 95%CI: 3.53~11.42,P<0.00001). The incidence of thrombosis was also significantly lower in anticardiolipin (aCL) negative patients (OR=2.79, 95%CI: 1.50~5.18,P=0.001).Conclusion LA and aCL positivity are associated with an enhanced risk of thrombosis in primary ITP patients.
