Abstract:Objective To systematically review the efficacy and safety of dual antiplatelet therapy for ≤6 months and ≥12 months after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods Database including PubMed, The Cochrane Library, EMbase, Web of Science, CBM, WanFang Data, VIP, and CNKI are searched electronically from inception to Nov. 2016 to collect RCTs of dual antiplatelet therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention. Meta-analysis is performed by RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of 11 RCTs including 21077 patients were included. The ≤6 months group has 10492 patients and the ≥12 months group has 10585 patients. The result of meta-analysis showed that, the ≤6 months group significantly reduced the major bleeding (RR=0.68, 95%CI:0.51~0.91,P=0.008), but there is no significant difference between the two groups in total mortality, cardiac death, stent thrombosis, stroke, myocardial infarction, target vessel revascularization (TVR) and minor bleeding. Conclusion Dual antiplatelet therapy for ≤6 months after percutaneous coronary intervention can reduce the major bleeding, but will not increase the total mortality, cardiac death, stent thrombosis, stroke, myocardial infarction, TVR and minor bleeding.
