Abstract:Objective To analyze the early changes of serum soluble ST2 (sST2) level and relationship between sST2 and myocardial viability in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods AMI patients (n=80, male 51, female 29, aged from 38 to 74 and average age=64.20±8.50) were chosen as AMI group from the Department of Internal Medicine of People's Hospital of Yingcheng City from Feb. 2013 to Sept. 2015. At the same time the health controls with physical examinations (n=80, male 50, female 30, aged from 36 to 76 and average age=60.60±10.25) were chosen as control group. The level of serum sST2 was detected, and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), infarction myocardial mass, scores of wall motion abnormalities and first-pass perfusion time were measured at the early stage of AMI.Results The level of sST2 was (481.45±61.86) pg/mL after AMI onset for 1 h, (604.27±70.53) pg/mL after 12 h and (369.57±67.65) pg/mL after 24 h, and was higher than that in control group (156.76±34.58) pg/mL (allP<0.0.5). The infarction myocardial mass, scores of wall motion abnormalities and first-pass perfusion time increased significantly, and LVEF decreased in AMI group compared with those in control group (allP<0.05). The results of correlation analysis showed that sST2 level was positively correlated to infarction myocardial mass (r=0.334,P<0.05) and scores of wall motion abnormalities (r=0.191, P<0.05), and negatively correlated to LVEF (r=-0.235,P<0.05).Conclusion The level of sST2 increases in AMI patients, which is correlated to the indexes of myocardial viability, infarction myocardial mass, LVEF and scores of wall motion abnormalities, and can reflects myocardial damage status.
