Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of trimetazidine combined with Qishen Yiqi Gutta Pills in treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) and its influences on levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ) and aldosterone (ALD).Methods CHF patients (n=96) were chosen from the Central Hospital of Cangzhou City from Apr. 2013 to Apr. 2016, and then randomly divided into observation group (n=48) and control group (n=48). All groups were given routine therapies for heart failure, and control group was additionally given trimetazidine (20 mg) once a tablet and 3 times a day and observation group was additionally given trimetazidine and Qishen Yiqi Gutta Pills (0.5 g) once 0.5 g and 3 times a day. The changes of blood pressure (BP), heart function, 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) and levels of plasma BNP, AngⅡ and ALD, and clinical efficacy were compared between 2 groups before and after treatment. Results The clinical efficacy was significantly higher in observation group than that in control group after treatment (P<0.05). The comparisons in BP, heart function, 6MWD and levels of plasma BNP, AngⅡ and ALD had no statistical difference between 2 groups before treatment (allP>0.05), and after treatment BP, heart function and 6MWD were significantly improved in 2 groups (allP<0.05). The levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESd) and left ventricular end-diastolic inner diameter (LVEDd) were significantly lower, and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and 6MWD were significantly better in observation group than those in control group (allP<0.05). The levels of plasma BNP, AngⅡ and ALD decreased significantly in 2 groups, and were lower in observation group than those in control group after treatment (allP<0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of trimetazidine combined with Qishen Yiqi Gutta Pills is significant in CHF patients, which can improve heart function and quality of life, and the mechanism may be related to the decreases of BNP, AngⅡ and ALD.
