Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors associated with relapse after catheter ablation of lone atrial fibrillation (LAF).Method 214 LAF patients during last decade in the Henan Provincial People's Hospital underwent catheter ablation were enrolled. According to the ablation effect, the two groups were divided into two groups: success group and recurrence group. The age, duration of atrial fibrillation, family history of atrial fibrillation, blood cholesterol, triglyceride, and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide were significantly higher than those of the control group before and after the risk factor, gender, age, smoking, alcohol consumption, ablation, (NT-proBNP), left atrial diameter, ablation and other surgical indicators were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results Factors between the two groups were statistically significant:family history of atrial fibrillation (P=0.0003), left atrial size (P=0.04), whether linear ablation was performed in the circumferential pulmonary vein ablation (CPVAI) (P=0.01), whether the complex fractionated atrial electrograms (CFAE) was performed (P=0.02), whether through the thoracic cardioversion to restore sinus rhythm (P=0.004). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the family history of atrial fibrillation was an independent risk factor for relapse after catheter ablation of isolated atrial fibrillation (OR=5.16, 95%CI: 2.73-26.13,P=0.0001). Conclusion Family history of atrial fibrillation is an independent risk factor for relapse after solitary ablation of atrial fibrillation.
