Abstract:Objective To discuss the application value of deceleration capacity of heart rate (DC) in reviewing automatic nerve function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods The patients with T2DM (n=139, T2DM group) were chosen from the Guang'anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2015, and at the same time normal persons with physical examinations (n=101) were chosen into control group. All groups were given 24-h ambulatory electrocardiograph monitoring (Holter) for out-line calculation, comparison and analysis of time-domain indexes of DC and heart rate variability (HRV) including SDNN, SDANN, RMSSD and PNN50.Results All time-domain indexes of DC and HRV were lower in T2DM group than those in control group (P<0.01). The occupancy of high risk of sudden death (DC≤2.5 ms) and medium risk of sudden death (2.5 ms<DC≤4.5 ms) were significantly higher in DC values in T2DM group than those in control group (P<0.01). The occupancy of SDNN significant decrease (SDNN≤50 ms) and SDNN medium decrease (50 ms<SDNN<100 ms) were significantly higher in T2DM group than those in control group (P<0.01). Conclusion The patients with T2DM have significant impairment of automatic nerve and decrease of vagus tension. DC value can be taken as a predictive index for reviewing automatic nerve function in patients with T2DM.
