Abstract:Objective To investigate the feasibility of per-ulnar percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after failure of per-radial approach. Methods The patients (n=81) with unsuccessful per-radial PCI were chosen from the Xuzhou Mine Hospital from Jan. 2011 to Jan. 2016, and randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was treated with per-femoral PCI and observation group, with per-ulnar PCI. The duration of puncture, success rate of PCI, incidence of complications, time in bed and length of hospital stay were compared between 2 groups. Results The difference in success rate of PCI had no statistical significance between 2 groups (P>0.05). The difference in PCI duration, incidence of complications, time in bed and length of hospital stay had statistical significance between 2 groups (P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of per-ulnar PCI is significant after failure of per-radial PCI, and it is safe, effective with lower incidence of complications.
