Abstract:Objective To evaluate the association between erectile dysfunction (ED) and risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and all-cause mortality by meta-analysis.Methods The databases of PubMed, Embase, CNKI, Wanfang Data, CBM and VIP were retrieved for collecting cohort studies reported the association between ED and risk of CHD and all-cause mortality. Two authors independently screened literatures, extracted data and assessed the quality of included studies. Then meta-analysis was performed using Stata 14.0 software. Results A total of 11 cohort studies were included, in which seven reported the association between ED and risk of CHD and nine reported the association between ED and risk of all-cause mortality. The results of meta-analysis showed that ED was associated with increased risk of CHD (RR=1.54, 95%CI: 1.41~1.67,P<0.001) and all-cause mortality (RR=1.47, 95%CI: 1.18~1.84,P=0.001). No obvious publication bias was detected. Conclusion ED might increase the risk of CHD and all-cause mortality. Therefore, to cure ED patients might decrease the risk of CHD and all-cause mortality in clinical practice.
