Comparative analysis of clinical trial registration and registry platforms

Abstract：Due to enhanced standardization, transparency, internationalization and public availability achieved in clinical studies, the importance and necessity of trial registration is being highlighted. In this article, it is described the flow and procedures of clinical trial registration, as well as the major platforms. In addition, a comparison is made between the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR) based in China and ClinicalTrials.gov based in North America. The aim of this study is to disseminate knowledge relevant to trial registration, to promote registration on indicated platforms, to provoke awareness on trial registration, and to improve the quality of clinical research.
