Abstract:Objective To study the value of QRS interval prolongation in prognostic prediction in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).Methods The patients with HFpEF (n=144) were chosen from Aug. 2012 to Aug. 2013, and divided into group with normal QRS interval (normal group) and group with QRS interval prolongation (prolongation group) according to QRS interval period. The indexes of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic inner diameter (LVEDd), grades of New York Heart Function Assessment (NYHA) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) were compared between 2 groups. The incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), re-hospitalization rate and endpoint all-cause mortality were followed up in 2 groups. Results The level of LVEF was significantly lower, and levels of LVEDd and NT-proBNP were significantly higher in prolongation group than those in normal group (P<0.05). The percentage of patients with grade Ⅲ/Ⅳ of NYHA was significantly higher in prolongation group than that in normal group (P<0.05). The incidence of MACE and re-hospitalization rate were significantly higher in prolongation group than that in normal group (P<0.05). The mortality was significantly higher in prolongation group than that in normal group, and there was significant difference in survival curve between 2 groups (P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of MACE and all-cause mortality are increased by QRS interval prolongation in patients with HFpEF, which has some predictive value to the prognosis of HFpEF.
