Abstract:Objective To systematic the association between interleukin-6 (IL-6) gene -643C/G polymorphism and coronary heart disease (CHD) in Chinese population. Methods To identify Case-control studies focused on association between polymorphism of -643C/G in IL-6 gene and CHD in Chinese population were search in PubMed, Embase, CBM, VIP, Wanfang Data and CNKI databases from the time of establishment until May, 2016. Two reviewers independently screened the title, abstract and keywords of each publication retrieved. Stata 12.0 software was used to perform the meta-analysis.Results A total of 6 literatures were included, including 800 CHD patients and 764 healthy controls. Polymorphism of -643C/G in IL-6 gene is significantly associated with CHD in Chinese population in allele model (Gvs. C:OR=1.38,95%CI:1.08~1.77), homozygote model (GGvs. CC:OR=3.11,95%CI:1.25~7.70), dominant genetic model (GG+CGvs. CC:OR=1.26,95%CI:1.02~1.55), and recessive gene model (GGvs. CC+CG:OR=3.08,95%CI:1.79~5.32).Conclusion Polymorphism of -643C/G in IL-6 gene may increase the risk of CHD in Chinese population.
