Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of open-heart surgery combining radiofrequency ablation maze procedure in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).Methods The AF patients (n=51) were chosen from the Huai’an First Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from Oct. 2013 to Apr. 2015. All patients were given open-heart surgery combining radiofrequency ablation maze procedure, and the intra-operative and post-operative indexes, perioperative complications and follow-up situation were analyzed. Results The time of radiofrequency ablation maze procedure was (15.2±4.3) min, ascending aorta blocking time was (61.5± 12.7) min, and cardiopulmonary bypass time was (88.3±23.2) min in all patients. The incidence of perioperative complications was 9.8%. Maintenance rate of sinus rhythm was 74.5% at the time of discharging from hospital, and 4.7% after procedure for 6 m. The maintenance rate of sinus rhythm in the patients with left atrial diameter (LAD)≤55 mm and AF time<2 y was significantly higher than that in patients with LAD>55 mm and AF time ≥2 y (P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of open-heart surgery combining radiofrequency ablation maze procedure is significant in AF patients.
