Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk factors, clinical symptoms and characteristics of coronary artery lesions in premenopausal and postmenopausal women with acute myocardial infarction, and to explore the clinical characteristics of premenopausal women with myocardial infarction. Methods A total of 218 female patients with acute myocardial infarction admitted to the Department of Cardiology of Mentougou District Hospital in Beijing from January 2014 to January 2016 diagnosed by coronary angiography were selected, including 56 premenopausal patients and 162 postmenopausal patients. In addition, 65 premenopausal females with normal coronary angiography were enrolled in this study. The risk factors, clinical symptoms and coronary artery lesions were compared between the three groups. Results Compared with premenopausal patients without acute myocardial infarction, the premenopausal patients showed high rates of hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, family history of early coronary artery disease, smoking and typical stethalgia (P<0.05). Compared with postmenopausal patients, the premenopausal patients had low incidences of hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia (P<0.05) and triple vessel disease(P<0.01), but high rates of typical stethalgia(P<0.05), single vessel disease(P<0.01)and anterior descending artery disease(P<0.01).Conclusion Hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, family history of early coronary artery disease and smoking were indicated to be risks of premenopausal acute myocardial infarction. Stethalgia was one of the typical clinical signs. Single vessel disease was more frequent in coronary artery lesions. Anterior descending artery was apt to be involved in the case.
