Clinical efficacy of heart musk of pill combined with western medicine for acute myocardial infarction in elderly patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of heart musk of pill combined western medicine for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in elderly patients.Methods 88 AMI patients in the first hospital affiliated to Hebei institute of north from Jan 2014 to Jun 2015 were randomly divided into joint group (n=44) and control group (n=44). Control group underwent emergency coronary interventional therapy with aspirin and clopidogrel; joint group used heart musk of pill on the basis of treatment for control group. Triglyceride (TG), cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV), Left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV); high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin -8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor -α (TNF-α) before and 2 months after treatment were measured. Plasma lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), cardiac troponin T (cTnT), creatine kinase (CK-MB) before and 24 hours after treatment were measured. Adverse drug events were recorded.Results After treatment, TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C of joint group were lower than control group (P<0.05); LVEF was higher than control group (P<0.05); LVEDV and LVESV are lower than control group (P<0.05). Hs-CRP, IL-8, TNF-αof joint group were lower than control group (P<0.05). LDH, CK-MB and cTnT of joint group were lower than control group (P<0.05); SOD of joint group was higher than control group 24 h after treatment (P<0.05). Total effective rate (93.18%) of joint group was higher than control group (75.00%), with statistical difference (P<0.05). There was no adverse event during treatment.Conclusion Heart musk of pill in combination with western medicine is effective in AMI treatment of elderly patients with no adverse event, which is worth for clinical application.
