The complication and prevention strategies of permanent pacemaker implantation in patients with chronic arrhythmia

Abstract：Objective To investigate complication and prevention strategies of permanent pacemaker implantation in patients with chronic arrhythmia.Methods 81 patients with chronic arrhythmia received permanent pacemaker implantation of the nuclear industry 215 hospital of Shaanxi province from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2012 were enrolled as control group. 71 patients with chronic arrhythmia received permanent pacemaker implantation of same hospital from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2014 were enrolled as observer group. Causes of complications in control group were analyzed, and then prevention strategies were formulated and used in observer group. Incidence of complications in two groups was compared.Results Incidence of complications in control group was higher than observer group (48 vs. 12; 59.3%vs. 16.9%,P<0.05).Conclusion Preventive strategies can reduce the incidence of complications after permanent pacemaker implantation.
