Abstract:Objective To discuss the relationship between serum level of visfatin, adipocyte fatty acid binding protein (A-FABP), Interleukin 6 (IL-6) and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis. Methods 168 patients hospitalized in the first hospital of Jilin University were enrolled, including 126 patients confirmed as coronary heart disease(CHD) by coronary angiography(CAG), and 42 patients with normal coronary artery. According to the Gensini scoring system, they were divided into four groups: the mild atherosclerosis group, the moderate atherosclerosis group, the severe atherosclerosis group and the normal control group. Serum levels of visfatin, A-FABP and IL-6 were measured. Results Serum levels of visfatin, A-FABP and IL-6 were significantly higher in patients with CHD, and increased as the severity of coronary artery disease. As the results of linear correlation analysis and the bivariate correlation analysis, the level of visfatin, A-FABP and IL-6 in each group was positively associated with the Gensini score (rsvisfatin =0.71,P<0.001;rsA-FABP =0.56,P<0.001;r IL-6=0.52,P<0.001); and visfatin and A-FABP are both positively associated with IL-6 (r visfatin=0.30,P<0.05;r A-FABP=0.61,P<0.05).Conclusion Serum levels of visfatin, A-FABP and IL-6 levels in CHD patients were associated with the severity of coronary artery disease, and were an independent risk factors for CHD.
