Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of optimized nutritional formula diet for decreasing incentives in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) to improve patients’ quality of life (QOL).Methods CHF patients (n=60) were chosen from Apr. 2013 to Oct. 2014, and randomly divided into control group with their own diet patterns and observation group given the intervention of optimized nutritional formula diet (eachn=30). The nutritional status was compared and analyzed between 2 groups, and assessment of nutritional status was carried out by using malnutrition inflammation score (MIS). The changes of body mass index (BMI), glycated hemoglobin (HbAlc), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) were observed after 3 m. The results of echocardiogram and incidence of cardiac events (heart failure, malignant arrhythmia, etc.) were compared during follow-up period. Results After treatment, the scores of nutritional status were (4.22±0.75) in observation group and (6.38±0.48) in control group (P<0.05). BMI, HbA1c and all indexes of blood fat were better in observation group than those in control group (P<0.05). The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) had no significant decreasing trend in observation group but decreased significantly in control group compared with that before treatment. There was 1 dead case due to deteriorated heart failure. Conclusion The intervention of optimized nutritional formula diet can effectively delay the deterioration of heart failure and improve heart function and nutritional status in CHF patients.
