Abstract:Objective To study the application value of short-term head-up tilt test (HUTT) in vasovagal syncope (VVS).Methods The patients (n=70) with typical symptoms of VVS were chosen from Nov. 2012 to May 2014, and randomly divided into test group and control group (eachn=35). The control group was given traditional head-up tilt test and test group was given HUTT.Results There was no statistical difference in age and sex between 2 groups. There were 25 cases with positive reaction in control group and 23 with positive reaction in test group (P=0.61). The average time to positive response was (31.2±6.9) min in control group and (12.2±5.3) in test group (P<0.001). Conclusion HUTT and traditional head-up tilt test have no difference in diagnostic accuracy, while HUTT has shorter test time and patients undergone HUTT have higher tolerance.
