Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between cardiac function grading and thromboembolic events with clinical symptoms of patients with cardiac myxoma. Methods A retrospective analysis of 72 patients with cardiac myxoma form May 2010 to June 2015 were conducted. Clinical symptoms of patients with different cardiac function classification; and cerebral or lower limb vascular thrombosis were compared. Results The main clinical symptoms of cardiac myxoma patients were palpitations shortness of breath (86.11%) and chest pain (23.61%). 9.62% patients had cerebral embolism or lower limb vascular thrombosis occurred. The major classification of cardiac function was grade II (76.39%), with systolic murmur (26.39%) and diastolic murmur (33.33%) during cardiac auscultation. 8.33% patients had sinus tachycardia, 22.22% had ST-T segment change, and 5.56% had sinus arrhythmia. By ultrasound heartbeat graph examination, left atrial myxoma was found in 62 patients (86.11%), right atrial myxoma was found in 4 patients (5.56%); left ventricular myxoma was found in 8 patients (11.11%). Platelet (PLT), fibrinogen (FIB), prothrombin time PT of the patients were increased with cardiac function classification increasing (P<0.05). The PLT, FBI and PT in patients with cerebral or lower limb thrombosis were higher than those without embolism (P<0.05).Conclusion The cardiac function grading and occurrence of embolism are closely correlation with coagulation function.
