Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Rhodioloside and nimodipine in cerebral vasospasm induced by subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).Methods 96 patients with SAH from Aug. 2012 to Mar. 2014 were randomly divided into the two groups: the control group (n=48) and the observation group (n=48). The control group received the western medicine routine treatment combining with nimodipine therapy. At the base of western medicine routine treatment, the patients from the observation group received Rhodioloside. The curative effect indexes were observed before and after treatment in two groups: nitric oxide (NO), endothelin (ET), thromboxane (TXA2), antithrombin III (AT-III), tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA), plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-I). According the incidence of cerebral vasospasm which diagnosed by complaint and middle cerebral artery flow velocity (MCA), the clinical effects of patients were evaluated comprehensively. Results There was no difference for the expression of NO、ET、TXA2、AT-III、t-PA and PAI-I between two groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, the expressions of NO and AT-III in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the expressions of ET、TXA2、t-PA and PAI-I were less than those in the control group. There was significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05). There was no difference for the MCA at 3 d, 7 d and 14 d after treatment between two groups. Cerebral vasospasm rate with syndrome and none in the observation groups was less than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Rhodioloside is able to dilate blood vessels and inhibit the thrombopoiesis and has effect in preventing cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, through inhibiting expressions of ET、TXA2、t-PA and PAI-I and promoting NO and AT-III expressions.
